A code to identify the condition for which the student received the financial aid award.

Beginning in Summer 2010 this element identifies condition based on Need (N) and Non-need (A).   The appropriate code to use for Condition ID for each Financial Aid Award Program Identifier (01253) is shown in the Edit Values for that element.

Prior to Summer 2010, Need and Non-need were further categorized into:
  • Merit - based on academic achievement.
  • Performance - based on talent, i.e.: athletics, music, art, etc.
  • Categorical - being in a group by virtue of a membership, i.e.: R.O.T.C., Seminole Indian, Confederate Survivors, etc.
