Page Name

The total number of term credit hours in excess of the number of credit hours required to complete the bacccalaureate degree program in which the student is enrolled and which meet the definition of excess credit hours in Board of Governors regulation 7.003 Fees, Fines, and Penalties.

This field is required for all state university undergraduate students who entered a postsecondary undergraduate program at any institution of higher education for the first time in fall 2009-2010 or thereafter.

Code a missing value (dot) for students not meeting the above criteria or that are otherwise exempted based on allowable exclusions by the regulation.

Do not include hours that are explicitly exempted by the regulation.

This field should be populated on Enrollment records sent with the Final Student Information File (SIF) and the Degrees Awarded (SIFD) submissions.

SUDS load programs will set this field to missing (dot) on Enrollment records sent with the Preliminary Student Instruction File (SIFP) or the Student Financial Aid (SFA) submissions.
